Sonjsak–Mendipathar and Rongrong–Resudekachang are two important roads in the state of Meghalaya, each road separated from the other by the River Damring near Thapa Bazar and Chidaret. Hence, in order to connect these two roads, a major bridge of 120 m length has been completed over the River Damring at Chidaret, connecting Thapa Bazar, Meghalaya.
This area is very rich in agricultural products, forest products, and minerals. This project has greatly uplifted the economy of the people living in the area and hence the state.
